12.02.08: Sport England NW Regional Sports Facility Strategy

Sport England NW has appointed Strategic Leisure to undertake the development of the NW Regional Sports Facilities Strategy. This is an important project for Sport England and the NW; the strategy will set out the Vision for future sports facility provision in the region, and identify the priorities for investment

The project will be managed by a project board consisting of representatives from Sport England, NWDA, CSPs (Lancashire Sport leading on this), NGBs, Local Authorities and Strategic Leisure.

The Strategy will assess the need for sports facilities across the region based on extensive consultation with stakeholders and partners, supply and demand modeling, and mapping of sport specific and community facilities. Identified priorities will also be considered in the context of population growth, regeneration initiatives and the sustainable communities agenda across the region.
