26.09.07: Strategic Leisure to complete PPG17 assessment for Sheffield City Council

Strategic Leisure Limited has been appointed by Sheffield County Council to complete a PPG17 open space, outdoor sports and recreational facilities assessment after previously completing a Sports England compliant playing pitch assessment and strategy for the city.
 
The assessment will provide recommendations for future provision based upon local and community needs that will be cost effective in implementation. Strategic Leisure has a wealth of experience in assessing open space projects including current and recent projects involving Coventry City Council and Preston City Council respectively.
 
Strategic Leisure will utilise GIS to assess issues concerning; quality, accessibility and site distribution which has proven its effectiveness in projects including our recent work with Preston City Council. The PPG17 assessment and strategy aims to identify and analyze current levels of provision in the area and compare with current and future demand, Strategic Leisure will also enable a complexity reduction concerned with current local plan policies with regards to open spaces
