22.08.07 SLL appointed by South Bedfordshire District Council to develop sports facilities strategy

Strategic Leisure Limited has been appointed by South Bedfordshire District Council to develop a sports facilities strategy to provide a strategic approach to providing future provision of sports facilities in the District. The strategy is needed to respond to the significant increase in housing developments planned for the area and cater to the increased demand for high quality sports facilities. The strategy also aims to assist the council in creating opportunity and facilitating participation.

The sports facility strategy will consider the existing provisions across all sectors; public, education, voluntary and commercial whilst detailing key stakeholders for future partnerships aimed at enhancing local provision and delivery. Focus developments to be considered include the designation of a sport's college and new water sports facilities to provide a more exciting sports provision to entice the growing youth population to be more active.
