Development of New Sports and Leisure Facilities, Hong Kong Jockey Club

SLI was commissioned by the Hong Kong Jockey Club to develop new sports facilities as existing, ageing facilities with increasing maintenance costs, no longer met expectations of the Club, members or commensurate with the status of the Club as one of Hong Kong’s premier sporting and charitable organisations.

The broad aim of the study was to identify the optimum mix of sports and leisure facilities, cost and means of delivering the required community and commercial leisure facilities.

On completion of the study the Club achieved it’s objectives to be ‘the best sports and leisure facilities in the regions’ by identifying a mix of commercial and community sports and leisure facilities, needs of users and non-users was addressed, prioritising facilities and activities for development. A five-year business plan was produced, detailing the findings of the study.
