Strategic Leisure, in partnership with Mouchel, has been commissioned by Lancashire Sport Partnership to assess the feasibility of developing Pennine Lancashire into a premier location for competitive and leisure cycling. The project aims to increase participation in cycling and attract more visitors to the area. The project will also link these aspirations to wider objectives related to the economy and regeneration, physical activity and health, tourism, the community and the environment. This survey is aimed to establish baseline data on the value of the cycling market to local Bed & Breakfast owners and hoteliers, and evaluate the need for additional steps to encourage more cycling tourism in the area.
