The City Council required a comprehensive PPG 17 audit and assessment of local needs to guide the development of an indoor facilities strategy and Greenspace strategy. The PPG 17 also revised new standards of provision for all types of Greenspace, outdoor sport facilities and indoor facilities. The assessment of need identified for the first time acceptable travel times to the City’s provision. The audit provided the City with a baseline with regards to the quality of all Greenspace across the City. The audit provided a management tool to guide future investment into site infrastructure.
