A comprehensive PPG 17 assessment was needed to facilitate the development of a planning framework to improve provision, guide future investment and ensure local people had equal access to all types of provision. The audit assessed provision against national best practices, creating a comprehensive data bank linked to the latest GIS digital mapping.
